One Bunk San Diego

One Bunk San Diego

This year has been full of new places to rest my head and I've seen some mighty fine spaces. I recently had a chance to indulge in a one night staycation at San Diego's newest space: One Bunk Barrio at the Gold Leaf Project. In the center of everything SD (and bikes available during your stay AKA BONUS) this modern studio was designed with clever tendencies and a witty personality.

I do love a great outdoor space and this one did not disappoint; the spacious and private sitting areas right outside the back door are perfect for breakfast (where I totally brought my breakfast to-go from Cafe Moto).

I was so inspired by the pieces and placement of the littlest things. I am fully obsessed with this chair and it was on the smaller side so instinctually, I secretly wanted to take it home.

This wall houses the mini bar, clothing rack, books...yoga mats!? Beyond that, your first beer is free on the house. AND they had my favorite mezcal that I had while in Mexico City. Scooooore.

I literally said WOW when I walked in and then just marveled at this piece above the bed. It was made by wire artist Spenser Little and I think it speaks volumes for the entire studio. The bed was incredibly comfy and after talking to the owner, I found out they use Casper! WHAT! I just got one at home so this sleeping sitch worked out perfectly. Don't even get me started on these pillows. New found loves.

This bathroom was so fresh and the floor to ceiling tile is a beaut! The pop of red in here ties in with the sitting area perfectly.

I hope you enjoyed this little studio tour of One Bunk Barrio! If you're coming to SD or are looking for a place to chill out for the weekend, I couldn't recommend it more.
